The Road Trip Bag

I was lucky enough to be chosen to test out the new Road Trip Bag pattern from Sew Many Creations . The size of the bag was extremely large and a major first for me but I think I did pretty well. I talked a bit about it in my last blog post. ;)

Now, I can show her off all finished! The bag turned out beautifully and I was shocked, that while she's big, she's not to big, if you get what I'm saying. I got a good idea of how big the bag was going to be when I completed the font panel and laid it on my table. Not only did I get a sense of the size of the bag but I loved the fabric choices I had picked out! She was a stunning bag!

The panel pretty much filled up my craft table, a dropside, wood kitchen table that seats 4, without much problem. I was a bit taken aback as I knew it was going to be a big bag but upon seeing her laid out, I got a tad nervous. Anyway, the pattern, when you follow along, flows smoothly and the pictures help you understand what she is telling you. I had never made a box bag before so picturing it in my head was a little hard for me. But I kept with the instructions and as you can see she turned out fabulous!

If you find that taking on such a big bag project is a little daunting..... don't be nervous! Jessica, from Sew Many Creations, lays it out very well for you, just take your time, go slow, and follow her directions. You might stop and think that certain instructions won't work or that it can't possibly come together that way, but it will!! Trust me! I did the same thing! Unless of course you've made a box bag before than you'll probably understand very well. lol So if you're wanting a big bag for trips the Road Trip bag is a fun sew and I urge you to try it!

I hope to pattern test for Jessica again sometime as I really enjoyed testing for her and having a go at a something new!
